Sareet B2022-01-17 Our 6 year old started piano lessons a few months ago, we are very happy with the curriculum and her teacher is great. She is enthusiastic about her playing and we are pleased with her progress so far! Christine Dufresne2022-01-10 My daughter has PTSD and ADHD but her instructor Ahra is so gentle and patient with her. She loves music and is really enjoying learning even though she would prefer to be an expert overnight instead. I love the communication and Daniel is always willing to answer my questions and make great suggestions on improvements. One of the best investments I have made. Donna King2021-08-17 My daughter loves taking her piano lessons at the Walpole School of Music! She has already come far in her first few months of instruction and enjoys her time with the instructors. It is also great to have a local and convenient provider for music lessons. Barbara Sullivan2021-04-11 We have two children enrolled with Maestro Musicians. One child in piano and the other guitar. They both enjoy the lessons, are extremely happy with their instructors and have learned so much in such a short amount of time. Love that they do in person lessons and are teaching them to read sheet music. They were accommodating with lesson times as well. I Highly recommend Maestro Musicians. We are thrilled to have found them. D B2021-04-11 I cannot say enough good things about Maestro Musicians. Daniel has been wonderful. He is responsive and wants the best experience for us families. Our kids’ guitar teacher, Bill, believes in their potential and motivates them just by loving music and encouraging them to love it as well. Bill even met us at several guitar stores to help us select the appropriate instruments. And lessons on Zoom have been effective. Five stars! Amy Baldwin2020-05-07 We signed initially signed our son up for piano lessons as a stepping stone to playing the drums. Turns out he enjoys learning to play the piano so much that we have decided to continue on with it instead. Our teacher at Maestro Musicians/ Walpole School of Music approaches lessons with enthusiasm, kindness and humor. Each lesson feels like a little adventure where our son makes discoveries about music (with patient guidance from his teacher). I was surprised at how quickly our son started playing songs on his own and how delighted he has been at his own accomplishments. I highly recommend Maestro Musicians/ Walpole School of Music.
Frequently Asked Questions

1. At what age should my child start music lessons?
Students are typically ready to begin lessons in Kindergarten. Sometimes they are even ready the summer before. How can you tell? If your son or daughter is able to focus in a group environment at school without problems, OR can focus with minimal redirection, he or she is ready!
2. Which instrument is best for my child to start with?
We typically start with Piano Lessons, due to the fact that this instrument offers a better visual representation of how music works. Furthermore, younger children will often experience faster results on the piano. Yet, if a child has a burning desire to play a different instrument, we absolutely go with it!
3. How much practice time will my child need?
It depends on the age of the child. Typically, we do not push a practice routine until a child is around 7 or 8 years old. That being said, your son or daughter will make maximal progress in his or her first years by devoting at least 15 minutes per day, 5-6 days per week. This can be done with the help of a parent even as young as 5 years old.
As the music gets more advanced, we like to see at least 30 minutes per practice session by the ages of 9 or 10, and then 45-60 minutes in high school, if possible.
We realize, however, that children have many competing activities and as long as there is some level of regular commitment demonstrated, we will match your child's pace in our lessons.
4. What qualifications do your teachers have?
All of our instructors are certified professional musicians with professional degrees. We are fortunate to have access to teachers who trained in the finest conservatories and university programs and many have graduate degrees in performance. Yet, we recognize that this is not enough - when we hire music teachers, we aim for instructors with that "spark in their eye" who have a contagious enthusiasm for passing the torch of music to the next generation.
5. What if my child doesn’t like it or wants to quit?
We realize that sometimes our music lessons are just not the right fit for a particular child. Every student who enrolls gets a trial period that lasts anywhere from 1-4 weeks. Here's how it works:
When you sign up in a given month, we prorate your bill through the last day of that calendar month. During this period, known as the trial, if you don't find us to be a good fit for ANY reason, we will withdraw your child, refund the unused lessons not taken, and even the registration fee.
There is really very little to lose.
